Canine Good Citizen Training in Tampa, FL
This program is designed to teach ten advanced behaviors with distractions and in public locations; then, the dog is prepared to take a standard test that certifies him/her as a Canine Good Citizen
Dogs that have this certificate can move on to be therapy dogs training or simply volunteer as companion animals. A service dog training program usually requires the CGC prior to start.
Behaviors
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Walking on a lose leash while paying attention to the owner
- Walking through a crowd without getting over-excited
- Sit, Down, Stay
- Come when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to a distraction
- Supervised separation from owner (3 minutes) with no inappropriate behavior
