SCENT DOG TRAINING FOR ASSISTANCE DOGS

All dogs enrolled must complete and pass theCanine Good Citizen (CGC) program to participate. Only intended for mental afflictions related to high levels of stress and listed under the Persons with Disabilities Act

The Program

• Custom training based on handler's needs
• Basic Scent training to help handler remain calm or recover their calm when triggered by stressful situations
• Dogs are trained to recognize signs of intense stress through scent, and perform behaviors that are comforting to the owner (for example lay on top of handler, place front paws on handler, nudge handler, attach to handler)
• Behaviors are tailored to each handler and to each dog
